Okay - so I may work on a computer the ENTIRE day but seem to have a mental block when I try to make time to blog!
Its been forever since I've written but not much is new... I will attempt to make this more of a priority... later :)
Still training, race day is 16 days away and I am NOT ready.

Days 4 through 6
The past few mornings have gone really well - had my 2 days of running (increased to walk 5 minutes/run2 walk 1 for 25 minutes/walk 5 to cool down)... now back to a "rest day". I have the day off so I haven't actually done anything physical yet - I don't think a shower counts as activity!
Ryan and I are off for a few days to the states for some shopping and a few days together before calving season start - arg, caving season. Hopefully keep up with the training while we are gone, the hotel does have a gym.. we'll see!

Day 3 - Rest Day... ha ha
SO my "rest day" involved a 5:30am alarm, yoga and stretching for 30 minutes. Felt nice to stretch and move around - in a quiet house with the ipod blasting in my ear! I need to plan these mornings better - I wasted quite a bit of time setting up the yoga mat and finding a routine on-line. Now I am on my way to a Council meeting... long day sitting at the computer.
Not much else new to write.

Day 2 of Training
Okay – Day 2... went really well – but it’s still a novelty. Alarm went off and I actually got out of bed! Whoo hoo! Did the 30 minutes (2.91km) and was thrilled... now it’s after 8 and I’m crashing (ha ha). It felt good to be up and moving again. Training e-mail says tomorrow is a rest day... I think the exact words were “take a day to rest from running by doing some cross training such as cross-country skiing or weights”... hmmm – I define rest a little differently! Usually involves a bubble bath and a good book! But I’ll find something for the morning, yoga is always great – I can’t get over how stiff and un-bendy a person is in the morning.
On a different note – I have been reading a lot the past few months, one of my goals from a while back – less mindless TV and more books (that aren’t written by Disney!). Started innocently enough – go to library and find a book, now I have the Chapters membership... well its driving my husband crazy (he doesn’t get why anyone would want to sit and read for hours!) Bradin and I are the same, I can sit and read all day if the world would let me – usually I get an hour or so once the kids are asleep with Ryan prodding me every page, “what’s happening now?” slightly irritating, but he means well. He turns on the hunting channel, I read, you know –quality time together
I’ve ploughed my way through the Twilight series (a couple times – shameful, I know), Time Travelers Wife, Host, several books on polygamy lives, memoirs on the holocaust, a few autobiographies and the latest read “Push by Sapphire”... don’t know if I’d recommend it? I read some pretty dark books on people who has escaped so dramatic things... they usually have a happier ending – there wasn’t an overly happy ending in this one, don’t think I’ll see the movie. Also reading “Lovely Bones”, it’s interesting enough. Beats watching hunting!

Well... its a start
Okay - all that typing this morning made me actually THINK about HOW I was going to accomplish a goal of running again. Sent an e-mail around to a few friends that I know are runners... 3 people on board - now I'm committed, or need to be committed?! I signed up last week for a daily e-mail on running training - so far I have received 4 e-mails and am no closer to actually lacing up the shoes... but today is the day!
Got rid of the family - Downloaded a few more songs for the ol' ipod - Tied up the shoes.. and actually got on the treadmill! 10 minute walk/10 minutes walk run (run 1 walk 1)/10 minute walk... done! It felt great! But Sunday afternoons are a different world all together than tomorrow at 5:30am! Evening just DON'T work for me, by the time dinner is done/lunches are made it time to take Bradin to karate or baths etc. Once the kids are in bed I am at the end of my day... so it has to be mornings. Always "fun" for the first few minutes... kinda goes like this -
*alarm goes off
*sluff out of bed into running outfit (always with a sports bra - ouch)
*find shoes
*replace shoes on proper feet
*stumble through living room to office
*trip over something - swear at said object
*turn on light in office - swear at said light (sensing a pattern?)
*once on treadmill begin stumbling over my own feet for the first 1/4 of the routine - I am not very graceful at that time of the morning!
*finish workout 25 minutes later and feel great about it!
So tomorow is another day..... we'll see!

New Year - more resolutions?
Okay a New year is upon us and time for the inevitable resolution list:
*be more organized - cleaned out a few junk storing areas in the house, bought a book on "Once a month cooking", have 18 freezer meals ready for the slow cooker
*grocery shop less than 5 times a week - comes with the more organized thing!
*get active AGAIN - not for weight loss, just health and mental well being (shhh, I actually miss my treadmill time!)
*have more fun - still researching how this can be accomplished when there are 24 hours in a day/10 of them I spend out of the house at work/1 is spent getting ready for work/8 are spent sleeping/2 are spent cooking and cleaning up supper... it leaves 4 hours (and the kids are in bed for 3 of them). Ideas?
*find more time for myself (see above)
The list may grow or alter as needed... we'll see how the month progresses. Notice that sitting on my butt playing computer isn't on the list - yet - where am I? Considering signing up for a 6km in March, haven't ran in quite some time so it would mean training but I think I need a goal to actually help the "active" resolution.
That's it for now - enough wasting time....
